Integration & Wholeness with Dr. Daniel Siegel
Integration and Wholeness: Unlocking the Patterns of Personality for Growth and Connection
A 3-Day Retreat with Dr. Daniel Siegel at the Garrison Institute
“Freud’s theory of the unconscious and Darwin’s model of evolution continue to help us understand the findings from current research on human behavior…. Daniel Siegel’s theory of Mindsight—the brain’s capacity for both insight and empathy—offers a similar ‘Aha!’”
– Daniel Goleman, author of Emotional Intelligence
Join Dr. Dan Siegel for the first-ever U.S. offering of his transformative retreat, based on his groundbreaking new book, Personality and Wholeness in Therapy. Embark on a deep dive into the 9 Patterns of Developmental Pathways, exploring how they shape personal growth, healing, and integration in personal transformation and beyond.
Through the lens of Patterns of Developmental Pathways (PDP), an interpersonal neurobiology-informed framework inspired by the Enneagram, Dr. Siegel will guide participants in discovering how innate tendencies and learned behaviors shape our sense of self—and how these patterns can become pathways to transformation. These themes are explored in his latest book Personality and Wholeness in Therapy.
In this 3-day exploration, you will learn how your unique personality patterns interact with emotions, relationships, and inner narratives, impacting your personal and professional life. Through interactive lectures, reflective practices, and experiential exercises, this retreat will provide practical tools for deepening self-awareness and fostering integration.
Retreat Highlights
- Framework for Growth: Learn how agency, bonding, and certainty—three motivational vectors—shape patterns of personality and can become stepping stones for growth and connection.
- Experiential Practices: Participate in reflective exercises, small group discussions, and guided meditations, including Dan’s renowned Wheel of Awareness practice to enhance focus, resilience, and self-compassion.
- Wholeness in Action: Explore how emotional narratives and adaptive strategies form over time—and how they can be re-framed to cultivate coherence and well-being.
- Scientific Insight and Wisdom Traditions: Integrating insights from neuroscience and contemplative practices, Dan will illuminate the science behind neuroplasticity, integration, and relational healing.
Schedule Overview
- Monday, March 4: Evening welcome and orientation session after dinner, where Dan will introduce the PDP framework and guide a reflective practice on “inner attention.”
- Tuesday, March 5: Full day of teachings, small group discussions, and practice sessions, including explorations of emotional strategies, narrative shaping, and inner compassion as a tool for transformation – for yourself, and your relationships.
- Wednesday, March 6: Morning session focused on practical ways to sustain growth beyond the retreat, followed by a closing reflection and actionable strategies to shape and explore your post-retreat study.
“Dan is a natural storyteller. His lectures are both an accessible guide to understanding the human mind and an eloquent examination of relationships that are scientifically accurate and understandable to the lay clinician.”
– Mario Cepeda, MFT
