The Garrison Institute staff and friends recently came together to offer their compassion, well wishes and generous donations to those affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Altogether, over 1,300 pairs of socks were collected to donate to shelters that are providing assistance and care for those affected by the natural disaster. The drive was organized by a former teacher who recently returned to the US after teaching in Japan, who then reached out to friends and colleagues in the devastated areas to ask what could be done to help. The overwhelming response of the Garrison community was truly inspiring and only further demonstrates our commitment to creating a compassionate, resilient future for all. Many thanks to all who participated!
