It’s long been known that teachers are stressed, and that in the US, half of all new teachers burn out within the first five years. But there’s new evidence the problem may be getting worse amid stepped up battles over teacher testing, budget cuts and implementation of Common Core standards for reading, writing and math. Recent surveys reveal that teacher stress is growing both in the US and abroad. Fortunately, so is the availability of an effective tool to ameliorate it: our CARE for Teachers (Cultivating Awareness and Resilience in Education) training program, offered in our upcoming Sixth Annual CARE Summer Retreat August 9 – 14.
