We are currently accepting applications for the Hemera Contemplative Fellowship Program. For information about eligibility and the application process, please refer below.

The Hemera Contemplative Fellowship Program

The Hemera Contemplative Fellowship Program was created to make the unique benefits of a sitting contemplative practice in a retreat context more widely available. In the early years of the Program, fellowships were offered to educators, artists and health care professionals. Now, Hemera will make the experience of a contemplative practice available to anyone with a commitment to service – a deep desire to devote oneself to servicing others through their work. Eligible applicants must be 18 years of age or older and working full-time in their profession.

Potential eligible fellows may include:

  • Educators, school administrators and staff (pre-K through college)
  • Health care professionals
  • Artists
  • First responders
  • Employees working for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization or private foundation
  • Employees of government and non-governmental organizations providing direct services
  • Members of active or retired military; reservists

Eligible Retreats

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2020 Hemera Contemplative Fellowship Program. We look forward to offering scholarships for our in-person and virtual programs in 2021, and we will update our website in early 2021 with more details. In the meantime, please contact us at scholarships@garrisoninstitute.org with any questions about our scholarship program.

How To Apply

Fellowships are awarded on a rolling basis, but we recommend applying early while there is still funding available. To apply for a fellowship, please complete and submit this form.

Due to overwhelming demand, we are unable to guarantee that all qualified applicants will be awarded a fellowship. We make every effort to respond to all applications within two weeks. If you have any questions, please contact us at scholarships@garrisoninstitute.org.

Please check back in January 2021 for more information about next year’s program.
