Ten years ago we had a vision that a program designed to support teachers’ well-being and mindfulness would transform classroom environments. Today we celebrate our success with first day of our Tenth Annual CARE retreat at the Garrison Institute and the infographic below. Our research has confirmed that when we take CARE of our teachers, they are better prepared to provide the support their students’ need to flourish.

What would it take to have CARE brought to the international schools of the world. In these schools, future world leaders are growing up and being educated. The skills of awareness and mindfulness are essential to a future world that is compassionate, kind, and humanistic. I’d like to start a conversation among some international schools in the Middle East to perhaps have the CARE trainings done over a period of months (during the fall/ winter months). I envision Saudi Aramco Expatriate Schools (District), Bahrain School (U.S.DoDs), other Bahrain international schools (e.g. Riffa Views Intl’ School), American School of Dubai, GEMS Schools, American School in Doha, International Schools Group schools, International Community Schools in Abu Dhabi, UAE and Muscat, Oman. Just to name a few. Are there Human Resources to bring this work international? Interest? The Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA) Conference series would be a good venue for this type of endeavor.
