Tsewang Namgyal, is a Director in the Structured Finance Group of the Investment Banking & Markets Division for the Americas at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (“MUFG”).
With over 15 years of banking, energy and infrastructure experience across the Americas, Tsewang focuses on project finance transactions from various perspectives, including leading the portfolio team’s active portfolio management efforts, performing credit monitoring and work outs.
Tsewang is committed to leading initiatives to bring mindfulness training within the financial service industry because he believes that the synergy resulting from merging mind training techniques to generate compassion and modern economic system will have a transformative positive impact on the world.
His work on mindfulness and compassion training has reached thousands of colleagues within his organization and inspired colleagues at other institutions. Tsewang was recognized for his work with MUFG’s Culture of Excellence award.
Besides his regular work, he serves on the board of The Tibet Fund. In December 2012 He launched Reimagining Doeguling. Doeguling is the name of the refugee settlement in south India where he used to live. One of the successes of this initiative has been the demonstration of how critical grassroot efforts and compassionate approach can solve India’s water shortage.
An avid traveler, Tsewang has visited over twenty countries, and has spent extensive time venturing the Tibetan plateau.
