An exhibit of contemporary Tibetan art from the private collection of Shelley and Donald Rubin is currently on display in the Garrison Institute ambulatory. Selected from the show “Tradition Transformed: Tibetan Artists Respond” held at the Rubin Museum of Art in 2010, these works by Tsherin Sherpa and Palden Weinreb explore contemporary issues – personal, political, and cultural – by integrating the centuries-old traditional imagery, techniques, and materials found in Tibetan Buddhist art with modern influences and media. Visitors are welcome to drop in any weekday, 9-5. The show will be up until December 15, 2011.
