Energy feedback is a well-known strategy to drive and sustain energy savings. Constant reminders about energy usage and savings can act as a trigger for energy-saving actions, including conservation behavior and energy efficiency technology investments. C3, an energy management software company, has developed several websites that provide users with online energy feedback. Feedback is provided in the form of monthly energy savings, reward points and personalized energy savings recommendations. Andy Frank of C3 discusses the implementation strategies related to this feedback, reviews the results of different types of feedback and frames the open questions raised by on-line feedback treatments.
